Darkness Under the Sun

Well this was an interesting book. Sad that it was short but very good. After listening to Dean Koontz write about Trixie, listening to a thriller was something else. It was good, I'm still in the fog of the book so this might be a short post. If I blog too much I might give something away so my advise is: go read this if you haven't already.

A big little Life: A Memoir of a Joyful Dog

If you're going to read this book (or listen to it) have a box of tissues handy! A relative of mine let me borrow the book (audio format) and it was just after my dog had past from cancer. I cried the whole time; I laughed at others. There were moments in the book that I had to shake my head with a smile because I knew it was true. If someone says "dogs don't lie", they are wrong. Dogs lie for treats, food, go outside to chase a rabbit, or to get your attention. They are smarter than you think. This book is an amazing memoir of a Golden Retriever, who was very smart. I wish I could have met her but every time I look at a Golden, I think of Trixie. I loved this book. Dean Koontz is an amazing writer and very brave to write about Trixie after her departure from this world. A wonderful book and a must read.
