Okay so I changed my mind about the next book I was going to read. Instead of the last Sookie Stackhouse novel I decided to take it upon myself to read Sherlock Holmes. Ever since my boyfriend got me into the BBC's Sherlock, I've had withdrawals from the series. So to appease my craving, I thought it would be a good idea to read the famous detective and maybe have some insight as to HOW he died and then is back. What was Sir Arthur Conan Doyle thinking when he decided to kill the beloved detective? Now with the series, it has driven me to the point of insanity as to Sherlock jumping off a building and then at the end the twist. If you go by the books, Mr. Holmes is alive and well. If you go by the series, we all see him jump, blood everywhere and he is whisked away. See how this rattles my brains and drives me up the wall?
As for A Study In Scarlett, I was captivated by the fast pace of the mystery and how quickly Mr. Holmes solved the case with ease. I have decided to read on with Sherlock Holmes (and keeping Robert Downey Jr, Jude Law, Benedict Cumberbatch, and Martin Freeman all in my mind as I read. A mix of all four playing their respective roles helps in the imagination of reading such books). I am pleased with Sir Doyle and I will continue to read (and reread The Hound of the Baskervilles) all of his novels before the new season of Sherlock comes to the television (as well as The Hobbit).
Cherry-o darlings!
